The ORCA III is a physicochemical sewage treatment plant, designed for treatment of both black and grey water. The ORCA III fulfilling the requirements of IMO MEPC 159(55). It uses proven, very low maintenance technology and its compact footprint makes it ideal for retrofitting to existing vessels as well as for installing on new ships. The plant operates on a continuous basis, is fully automatic in normal operation and requires a low volume of consumables.
Operation
The ORCA III physicochemical sewage treatment plant uses two process methods:
1. Physical method
- Maceration
- Sedimentation
- Filtration
2. Chemical method
- Coagulation
- Oxidation
- Disinfection
As the treatment is not based on an activated sludge process, the unit is easy to handle and is almost immediately operational after start-up. The shut-down process is also short and simple.
